Patiala:- An emergency meeting of the Dairy Union Patiala was held, where the issue of rising prices of wheat straw (turi) was brought to the attention of the ADC, Patiala. The union requested a ban on the use of wheat straw as fuel in factories so that dairy farmers can get relief in straw prices.
The Patiala Dairy Union has requested the Punjab Government and the administration to address these demands, warning that if ignored, the dairy business will collapse. In the memorandum submitted, the union demanded that the price of straw be capped between 400 to 500 rupees (per quintal). 
Furthermore, they demanded a complete ban on the sale of adulterated milk, curd, and paneer in the markets. Present on this occasion were President Kripal Singh, Pala Ram, Davinder Singh, Lakhvir Singh, Avtar Singh, Taranjit Singh, Jagir Singh, Dhanwinder Singh Dhindsa, and others.
