Chandigarh, September 30:- Shri Nishant Kumar Yadav, IAS, Deputy Commissioner-cum-Estate Officer, UT Chandigarh, chaired a review meeting of the Estate Office. During the meeting, branch-wise pending cases, progress of auto-mutation, digital services, record management and redressal of public grievances were reviewed.
It was informed in the meeting that a total of 230 applications are pending across all branches and all of them are within the prescribed time limit. The Estate Officer directed all branches and officers to dispose of the remaining cases within the stipulated time. Directions were also given to expedite cases awaiting responses from the concerned parties and other departments.
Regarding auto-mutation, it was informed that 2,031 documents have been received so far since the facility was launched on July 7, 2025. Of the 600 documents received between May 1, 2026 and September 23, 2026, 552 have been disposed of, including 543 approved and 9 rejected. In addition, 33 documents were returned with objections, while action on 15 documents is in progress.
Under the digital initiatives, the Estate Office is working towards providing convenient services to citizens while saving them from unnecessary visits to the office and making property governance faceless, paperless and transparent.
For record management, the branches were directed to prepare branch-wise inventories, label records and systematically transfer scanned physical files in a phased manner. Emphasis was laid on ensuring the security of records, better utilisation of space and easy retrieval of records.
With regard to public grievances, the status of complaints and representations received in the CIA branch during 2025-26 and 2026-27 was reviewed. Officers were directed to submit action taken reports on time, dispose of cases as per rules and keep applicants informed from time to time.
Shri Nishant Kumar Yadav said that service delivery should remain citizen-centric, transparent and time-bound.
