Chandigarh, September 30:- The seven-day special NSS camp organised by the NSS Department of Rayat Bahra University (RBU) concluded with various educational, health, environmental, cultural and social service activities. During the camp, NSS volunteers participated enthusiastically and demonstrated social responsibility, discipline, teamwork and a spirit of service.

NSS Director Professor (Major) A.S. Chahal said that the camp was organised under the guidance of RBU Chancellor Gurvinder Singh Bahra with the main objective of developing a sense of social responsibility, leadership, discipline and teamwork among the volunteers.

The camp began with a session organised on the occasion of Ayurveda Day. During the session, Dr. Vishesh Sharma provided information about Ayurveda, a healthy lifestyle and the importance of a balanced life. On the occasion of NSS Day, Pro Vice-Chancellor Prof. (Dr.) Satish Kumar Bansal formally inaugurated the camp and motivated the volunteers to actively work for the welfare of needy and underprivileged sections in the adopted villages.

Subedar Narender Singh of the Indian Army addressed the volunteers on the topic ‘War Against Oneself’, highlighting the importance of self-discipline, moral values and responsibility.

During the camp, a blood donation camp was organised in which 70 units of blood were collected. Specialist doctors from Max Hospital conducted health awareness sessions. Cardiologist Dr. Anumeet Bagga provided important information related to heart health, while Dr. Sagarika demonstrated Basic Life Support (BLS) and primary life-saving techniques. In addition, a fire safety awareness session was also organised.

The volunteers participated in the Viksit Bharat Quiz, tug-of-war and kho-kho competitions. Several other activities, including plantation, a drug de-addiction awareness rally, an oath-taking ceremony and a rally in memory of Shaheed Bhagat Singh, were also organised during the camp.

The camp concluded with a visit to Gurdwara Sri Fatehgarh Sahib. Organised under the supervision of Prof. (Major) A.S. Chahal, the camp laid special emphasis on developing leadership skills, teamwork, discipline and commitment towards social service among the volunteers.
