Bangana/Una, June 23: Public Works Minister Vikramaditya Singh will inaugurate the historic district-level Piplu Fair on June 24. Held at the Lord Shri Narsingh Dev Temple in Piplu on the occasion of Nirjala Ekadashi, the fair—running from June 24 to 26—will feature religious rituals alongside cultural, sports, and entertainment activities. As part of the fair, the Kutlehar Festival will also be organized at Bhalet, Bangana, on June 26.
Sonu Goyal, Sub-Divisional Magistrate (Civil) of Bangana and Chairman of the Fair Committee, stated that a grand procession will be taken out in Bangana at 10:00 AM on June 24 to mark the inauguration, with Public Works Minister Vikramaditya Singh participating. Subsequently, he will formally inaugurate the historic district-level Piplu Fair by performing prayers and the flag-hoisting ceremony at the Lord Shri Narsingh Dev Temple in Piplu. Gagret MLA Rakesh Kalia and Kutlehar MLA Vivek Sharma (Vikku) will also be present as special guests on this occasion.
He mentioned that the fair will feature developmental exhibitions by various departments, sports competitions, performances by local and emerging talents, and cultural evenings. Renowned folk singer Kaku Ram Thakur will perform on June 24; famous singers Kumar Sahil and Sunil Masti on June 25; and Himachali singers Inshant Bhardwaj and Mohit Garg on June 26. Additionally, on the evening of June 26, famous Punjabi singer Gulab Sidhu and Nati singer Kuldeep Sharma will entertain the audience at the Kutlehar Festival in Bhalet, Bangana. Kutlehar MLA Vivek Sharma (Vikku) appealed to the local residents to participate in the fair in large numbers, stating that the Piplu Fair is a symbol of the region's folk faith, cultural heritage, and social harmony, and that continuous efforts are being made to make it even grander and more attractive.
