Patiala, July 15:- The monthly meeting of the PRTC Pensioners Association was held today at the Old Bus Stand, Patiala, under the chairmanship of Mukand Singh, Chairman of the Central Body. A large number of pensioners from various depots participated in the meeting. Various speakers condemned the management's silence regarding their pending arrears.
Addressing the rally-style meeting, State President Bhagwant Singh Kanganwal emphasized the need for unity to get their payments released, stating that all achievements so far have been attained through collective strength. He warned the management that if their pending arrears—such as the 2016 grade arrears, medical bill reimbursements, and dues of new retirees—are not paid immediately, they will be forced to launch a struggle.
General Secretary Hari Singh Chamak stated that pensioners are feeling restless due to the non-payment of revised grade arrears for the last 10 years. He noted that despite repeated contact with the management over the phone, they have received nothing but empty promises. Chairman Mukand Singh also denounced the management's silence and urged all pensioners to remain united and be prepared for a struggle to secure their dues. During the meeting, Ramesh Bhatti was welcomed into the association after he left the INTUC organization.
The meeting was also addressed by several other leaders, including Bachan Singh Arora, Hardev Singh, Gurmeet Singh, Jallor Singh, Pritam Singh Brar, Raghvir Singh Khadyal, Madan Mohan Sharma, Balwant Singh Joga, Joginder Singh, Surmukh Singh, and Bachittar Singh.
