Hoshiarpur: Just as iron turns into gold upon contact with the *Paras* stone (philosopher's stone), a building with correct Vastu ensures that everyone residing within it is imbued with positive energy. A person living in a home with proper Vastu remains physically, mentally, socially, and financially capable and prosperous. A building constructed in accordance with fundamental Vastu principles can make you radiant and valuable, much like gold. This is the view of the internationally renowned Vastu expert and author, Dr. Bhupendra Vastushastri.
When constructing a building, every element—from the shape of the plot to the color scheme—should be meticulously planned according to directional principles. Furthermore, the attributes of the forty-five deities residing in the *Vastu Purusha Mandala* and the proper balance of the five elements (*Pancha Tattva*) must be taken into account. The land's slope should ideally be towards the North, East, or North-East (*Ishaan Kon*).
Underground water sources should also be located in the North-East corner. The Eastern side should be kept relatively open, light, and well-lit, whereas the Southern side should be kept heavier and elevated. Activities related to fire, such as the kitchen, should be situated in the South-East corner (*Agneya Kon*).
The Western side should be kept less open than the Eastern side. The main entrance must align with Vastu principles; crucially, it should not be located in any of the building's corners. If a building is constructed keeping these factors in mind, the occupants will lead a happy and fulfilling life.
