Jaito, November 8: A new Vande Bharat Express train between Ferozepur and New Delhi of Northern Railways started running on Saturday, which was inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi via video conferencing. Senior railway sources said that the Ferozepur-Delhi Vande Bharat Express is the first fastest train to run on this route, which will complete its journey in 6 hours 40 minutes.
According to railway sources, the new train, whose number is 26461-26462, will run between Ferozepur-New Delhi via Faridkot-Bathinda. The train will halt at Faridkot, Bathinda, Dhuri, Patiala, Ambala Cantt, Panipat and New Delhi stations in both directions. The train will depart from Ferozepur at 7.35 am and reach New Delhi at 2.35 pm, while it will depart from New Delhi for Ferozepur at 4 pm and reach there at 10.35 pm.
The Railway Ministry says that this new train is expected to increase trade, tourism and employment opportunities, contribute to the social and economic development of the border areas and promote better integration with the national markets. Along with this, the Railway Department has also given its consent to extend train number 22485-22486 New Delhi - Moga to Ferozepur via Ludhiana Intercity Express train. Which has started from today.
