Hoshiarpur:- Following the age-old saying, “The crowns belong to the wealthy, but the lamps always burn for the fakirs,” the annual Sufi fair dedicated to the loving memory of Chaudhary Swarn Chand Baddhan and Mata Ram Pyari Ji was organized with great devotion and enthusiasm at Mohalla Bhagat Nagar, Hoshiarpur. The event, titled “Darbar Hazrat Peer Ghaus Pak Gyarhvin Wali Sarkar” and the Annual Sufiana Mela of Baba Balak Nath Ji, was organized by Jagte Raho Cultural Forum Regd. Hoshiarpur and the Baddhan family, in collaboration with The Working Reporters Association Regd. India, under the supervision of Mela Controller Chairman Tarsem Diwana, Vinod Kaushal and Prince Balveer Singh Saini.
The annual Sufiana Mela commenced with the lighting of the traditional lamp in the presence of Sai Geeta Shah Qadri, Gaddi Nashin of Darbar Hazrat Peer Ghaus Pak Gyarhvin Wali Sarkar. The fair was formally inaugurated by Dr. Ashish Sareen, MD, His Excellent Institute, along with Sai Mindi Shah, Sai Sodhi Shah and Sai Tarsem Shah, who jointly cut the ribbon. A large number of music lovers and admirers of the mother tongue attended the event to enjoy performances by renowned Sufi singers.
Mahant Lucky Madhav opened the annual Sufiana Mela with Baba Ji’s Aarti and Ganesh Vandana, followed by the devotional rendition “Manmohaniya Balak Nath Kihde Vele Aavega.” Popular Punjabi singer Ilahi Sohal won the hearts of the audience with her soulful rendition “Main Deewani Paunahari Di.”
Renowned Sufi singer Mukesh Inayat enthralled the audience with performances including “Main Deewani Siddh Jogi Di,” “Ban Ja Deewana Meera Da,” “Tu Chhad Malik Te Dora Kyon Ewen Dollda Ae” and “Ik Rasta Band Hunda, Chaar Rab Kholda Ae.” Winkal Fazilka took the atmosphere to new heights with “Vanjali Di Huk.” Sufi singer Tarsem Diwana made the audience dance to “Allah Manniye, Fakkad Manniye, Manniye Kitaban Chaar.”
Master Ajmer Diwana captivated the audience with his melodious performances, including “Fullan Di Varkha Ho Rahi Paunahari De Darbar Te” and “Teri Vanjali Te Lagi Hoyi Heer Ranjha.” Renowned Sufi singer Ustad Surinderpal Panchi presented “Jagte Nu Chhad Ke Tu Bhagte Nu Kar Le, Jinne Tera Hona Ae Sahaye” and “Mere Yaar Da Vichhora Kahto Payaa.” Singer Jeet Harjeet made his presence felt with “Tu Vi Taan Rabba Yaar Rakhiya.” The Jeeta Bai Bhangra Group also won the hearts of the audience with a beautiful choreography performance.
On the occasion, several Sufi saints and spiritual personalities, including Sai Sodhi Shah Atalgarh, Sai Bagiche Shah Bhullath, Sai Mindi Shah, Sai Sodhi Shah, Sai Tari Shah Gaddi Nashin Amarudan Wali Sarkar, Mahant Vicky Deva, Baba Dinesh Gir, Sai Tarsem Shah, Vinod Kaushal, Dev Raj Bhagat Nagar and Karmveer Hari Pind, among others, graced the occasion with their presence.
Chairman Tarsem Diwana of Jagte Raho Cultural Forum Regd. Hoshiarpur expressed gratitude to all music lovers and Sufi singers for making the event a success. On behalf of The Working Reporters Association Regd. Punjab, India, distinguished personalities were honoured with medals and mementoes under the leadership of Punjab President Prince Balveer Singh Saini.
