Patiala (Kaka Ram Verma):- Dedicated Brothers Group, Patiala, has been making extensive efforts to promote good conduct, love, health, well-being, safety, happiness, progress and awareness among students. So far, the organisation has honoured more than 2,300 teachers, professors and principals, as well as over 2,000 students, for their positive conduct and efforts to organise awareness programmes for students’ welfare.
On the occasion of International Best Student Day, the organisation’s president, Dr Rakesh Verma, secretary Harpreet Sandhu and other members honoured 21 principals and teachers. Special recognition was also given to Punjab Police Commando Training Centre, Qila Bahadurgarh, CDI Inspector Palwinder Singh, Sub-Inspector Dhian Chand and ASI Ram Saran of the Traffic Education Cell for their role as exemplary police educators.
The organisation said that anyone who encourages others to acquire virtues and knowledge, follow rules, laws, principles and duties, and develop good thoughts, feelings and habits is also a good teacher. These police officers have made thousands of students, teachers, police officers and personnel aware of important values and responsibilities.
Dr Rishma Kohli and Kaka Ram Verma, retired Training Supervisor with the Red Cross, said that October 15, the birth anniversary of Bharat Ratna Dr APJ Abdul Kalam, has been designated by the United Nations as International Best Student Day to promote honesty, loyalty and responsibility among students.
They said Dr Kalam gave up a scholarship worth US$800,000 offered annually in the United States and devoted his knowledge and efforts to developing missiles, satellites and technology for India’s security, protection, honour, prosperity and progress. Even after retiring as President of India, he continued to educate students and teachers about these subjects.
They urged the principals and teachers present to celebrate Dr Kalam’s birth anniversary in schools and raise awareness among children so that they could develop good qualities and become students inspired by his example.
