Chandigarh, 25 September:- The Postgraduate Institute of Medical Education & Research (PGIMER), Chandigarh, organized a workshop on “GeM-New Features and Functionalities” on September 24, 2026, as a precursor to Vigilance Awareness Week 2026.
The initiative was organized in line with the directives of the Central Vigilance Commission (CVC), New Delhi, which has advised organizations to undertake a three-month Vigilance Awareness Campaign from August 17, 2026 to November 16, 2026.
During the workshop, Sh. Yogesh Sharma, Purchase Officer, PGIMER, delivered a comprehensive presentation on various aspects of the Government e-Marketplace (GeM). The session focused on the latest features and functionalities of the GeM portal, including online procurement, bidding, reverse auction, selection of products and services, order placement and other important procurement processes.
Practical issues and common challenges encountered during GeM transactions were also discussed through an interactive session. The presentation aimed to enhance awareness among employees and contribute to the Institute’s ongoing capacity-building efforts.
Approximately 100 participants, including doctors, nursing staff, paramedical personnel and administrative employees, actively participated in the workshop.
The workshop was organized as part of PGIMER’s ongoing Vigilance Awareness Campaign 2026, with the objective of promoting a culture of integrity and strengthening preventive vigilance through awareness and capacity building.
