Patiala, 26 September:- Patiala Social Welfare Society has been creating awareness among people for the past 20 years. So far, more than 1.5 lakh people have been made aware at vegetable markets and other places. Many people have now started using cloth bags while purchasing vegetables.
Senior Postmaster of the Head Post Office Ishar Singh expressed these views while distributing bags among the members during a meeting of the Postal Advisory Committee, on behalf of the Patiala Social Welfare Society. He said that plastic bags not only cause harm to health but can also lead to dangerous diseases. He said that they can also cause harm and even dangerous diseases such as cancer can occur. Fungus can also develop in plastic bags.
Therefore, everyone should bring vegetables and other items in cloth or jute bags. This keeps the goods as well as people safe. He said that it is the need of the hour to stop using plastic bags and use cloth or jute bags to protect ourselves from diseases.
