Patiala, April 17- Patiala Police is continuously conducting a campaign against gangsters and anti-social elements and the police is getting good success in this. Patiala Police is now taking more active action and besides arresting three shooters of Bobby Mahi and Goldie Dhillon gang sitting abroad along with weapons, they have also made arrests in two other cases.
Giving information about this in a media conference today, Patiala SSP Varun Sharma said that a team led by Gurbans Singh Bais SP, Rajesh Malhotra DSP and Inspector Pradeep Singh Bajwa identified 3 shooters of Bobby Mahi, resident of Tafzalpura, Patiala, who lives in America and threatens traders/businessmen and influential people through social media to demand huge ransoms from them. Based on secret information, accused Satwinder Singh alias Sunny son of Sarabjit Singh Ward No. 1 Ghanaur, Jashanpeet Singh alias Hakla son of Jagdish Singh resident of Baghaura and Deepak alias Deepu son of Ashok Kumar Ghanaur, Patiala district, were arrested from Sunyarheri Bir while planning to carry out a major incident. 2 pistols of 30 bore and 10 live rounds were recovered from them.
It is worth mentioning here that Bobby Mahi used to smuggle liquor in the past, against whom several cases have been registered. After coming out of jail, he had escaped abroad through the donkey route and nowadays he is getting young boys in Punjab to commit criminal acts by luring them with money and giving them the pretext of sending them abroad in collusion with anti-social elements.
The arrested accused are being interrogated, a thorough interrogation will be conducted after obtaining police remand. The SSP also gave information about two other cases, he said that the three accused of the theft that took place in the Model Town area of ??Patiala recently were arrested and the entire amount of Rs 5 lakh and gold and silver have been recovered from them.
