Patiala, March 30:- Punjab Forest Department Workers Union Reg: 11/89 staged a protest in front of the Forest Division Officer, Patiala office, demanding the release of pending salaries of the workers working under the Forest Division, Patiala and the release of arrears of increased rates. Addressing the protest, District President Veerpal Singh Bammana and Balbir Singh Mandoli said that the management of the Forest Division, Patiala has been cheating the workers.
The arrears that are pending have also been collected with a sense of discrimination and the workers are being continuously harassed. Despite repeated meetings with the union, the workers have not been given enough and no legitimate demands have been resolved. Due to which the FO Patiala office staff has been beaten up in protest.
After which, the Forest Division Officer Patiala held a meeting on the occasion and assured to release the remaining salaries and also expressed agreement on other demands. The next meeting was assured to be held with the organization in the first week of April. On this occasion, the workers and leaders of all the ranges of the Forest Division Patiala were present.
Harpreet Singh Lochma Rajpura, Kulwant Singh Thuhi Nabha, Beant Singh Range Bhadson, Harcharan Singh Badochhi Sirhind Range, Kulwinder Banur, Hardeep Singh Soja Samana, Wanti Devi, Rani, Ramdas, Paramjit Kaur, Major Singh Baher etc. besides other colleagues were present. The workers assured the leaders of the organization that next time they would join the protest in large numbers.
