Hoshiarpur: Divya Jyoti Jagrati Sansthan (DJJS) organized a special weekly *Satsang* (spiritual gathering) and *Bhajan* (devotional song) program at its local ashram in Gautam Nagar, Hoshiarpur, to mark the auspicious occasion of Independence Day (August 15). On this spiritual and inspiring occasion, Sadhvi Rane Bharti Ji and Sadhvi Renu Bharti Ji—disciples of His Holiness Ashutosh Maharaj Ji—addressed the large gathering present, sharing thoughts imbued with patriotism and rendering melodious devotional songs.
Paying tribute to the great heroes of the Indian freedom struggle—such as the immortal martyr Bhagat Singh, the valiant Rani Lakshmibai, Mangal Pandey, and Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose—the Sadhvis emphasized that the heroism of these warriors was not merely the result of physical strength. It was the outcome of the burning patriotism, selflessness, and clear ideological direction within them that enabled them to shake the very foundations of the British Empire.
When an unwavering resolve to achieve a noble goal for the nation awakens within an Indian, they can accomplish even those tasks that appear impossible. In this context, drawing deeply from the life of Swami Vivekananda, they explained that possessing boundless energy and enthusiasm in life is not enough; it is absolutely essential for that energy to be channeled in the right and positive direction. Swami Vivekananda’s life teaches us that without a competent guide, even immense power can become destructive or go to waste.
It was only when Swami Vivekananda came into the presence of an enlightened Guru like Sri Ramakrishna Paramahansa that his energy found the right direction, allowing him to hoist the banner of India and Indian culture across the globe. The patriotic and devotional songs presented during the *Satsang* fostered a unique blend of love for the nation and spirituality among the audience. When viewed in the context of modern life, it becomes evident that while contemporary Indian society is geographically fully independent, it remains shackled—mentally and spiritually—by various forms of bondage such as stress, selfishness, aimlessness, hollow materialism, and moral degradation. Today’s youth possess a wealth of information and state-of-the-art technological facilities, yet they utterly lack inner peace and a true sense of life's purpose.
Happiness can be purchased through external achievements, but it cannot fill the inner void. Self-realization is the only path to permanent liberation from these invisible mental shackles. Through spiritual discourses (*satsang*), Sadhvi Ji has conveyed the eternal message that true freedom remains incomplete until a person discovers the infinite realm of consciousness residing within.
This inner freedom cannot be attained merely through empty sermons; it is achieved only through the eternal and experiential science of *Brahma Gyan* (Divine Knowledge). In present times, His Holiness Ashutosh Maharaj Ji is awakening the inner consciousness of the masses through this very *Brahma Gyan*, guiding them toward a righteous and noble path in life. When an individual, having attained *Brahma Gyan*, undergoes the transformative fire of continuous meditation, selfishness and narrow-mindedness are eradicated from within, giving rise to the sacred spirit of altruism and service to the nation.
It is through this spiritual awakening that the reconstruction of a powerful India becomes possible—a nation that is not only materially prosperous but also capable of reclaiming its stature as a *Vishwa-Guru* (World Teacher) on the global stage. Ultimately, true freedom is that which liberates us from our own weaknesses, transforming us into noble Indian citizens and genuine servants of humanity.
