Hisar/Mandi Adampur: MLA Chandraprakash raised the issue of irrigation water and drinking water prominently in the Assembly session while strongly voicing the concerns of farmers. He clearly stated that canal water supply is not reaching the tail ends of Balak Minor, Rana Distributary, Budak Sub Minor, Bandahedi Sub Minor, Kabir Minor, Basra Minor-2 and Balsamand Minor. Chandraprakash said that the villages of Adampur Assembly constituency, including Durjanpur, Thaska, Chikanwas, Budak, Bandahedi, Matrasyam, Mingni Khera, Salemgarh, Nyolikalan, Bagla, Kabrel and Balsamand, are situated at the tail end. There is a one-week rotation here, and water does not reach the tail at all. Not only this, there is also a shortage of water in the Public Health water works. In such a situation, leave aside irrigation water, villagers are not even getting drinking water. Chandraprakash demanded that considering the seriousness of the matter, an investigation should be conducted to find out why these villages are not receiving water.
Responding to the issue raised by MLA Chandraprakash, the Irrigation and Water Resources Minister said that as per the list of these villages, the issue of low water supply will be investigated. The Irrigation Minister stated that the process for the rehabilitation of Basra Sub Minor-2 has been initiated. Once this work is completed, proper water supply up to the tail end of the channel will be ensured.
After the Assembly session, MLA Chandraprakash said that the government should take care of farmers and rural people. If villages are inspected, it becomes clear that farmers neither receive sufficient water for irrigation nor regular electricity supply. In such a situation, how can a farmer carry out farming? Not only this, farmers also have to struggle to obtain genuine seeds and fertilizers. 
A few months ago, due to heavy rainfall, waterlogging in fields destroyed crops in thousands of acres in the Adampur Assembly constituency. Farmers have uploaded this on the portal, and it has also been verified by the Tehsildar. Therefore, the government should immediately release compensation and provide relief to the farmers. Along with this, proper arrangements should also be made to ensure water reaches the tail end.
