Patiala:- The real meaning of independence is that we should increase our knowledge to make our country, society and home-family healthy, fit, safe, prosperous and advanced. We should understand the reasons for the destruction of the country, society and families and make knowledge, unwavering humanitarian thinking and science our strengths. To understand and adopt these qualities from childhood, we should take proper guidance from good teachers, gurus and subject experts.
This idea was expressed by the Principal of the school, Mrs. Sarla Bhatnagar, while encouraging the students on the occasion of Independence Day at Veer Haqiqat Rai Model Senior Secondary School, Patiala. She said that it is necessary to make knowledge, discipline and humility our strengths for our safety, prosperity and progress.
On this occasion, NCC Cadets, Scout-Guides and NSS Volunteers performed a march past parade and saluted the tricolor flag. During the event, the great martyrs who sacrificed their lives for the country's independence were also remembered with reverence.
In the presence of the school president, senior vice president and members, social reformer Mr. Kaka Ram Verma said that when there is a lack of brotherhood, love, compassion, humility, tolerance and discipline in the society, division and destruction are born. Therefore, we should strengthen mutual love, harmony and brotherhood.
Principal Mrs. Sarla Bhatnagar motivated the students to stay away from drugs and crimes as well as to avoid misuse of mobile phones, bad companions, fast food, junk food, cold drinks and comfort. She gave the message to the students to adopt a healthy life, discipline and good values.
