Santokhgarh/Una, March 28 (Rajveer Chopra): A horrific road accident occurred at Goshala Chowk in Santokhgarh on Saturday night, around 10:00 PM, when a speeding truck approaching from the direction of Tahliwal lost control and crashed into a roadside shop.
According to eyewitnesses, the impact of the collision was so severe that the front section of the truck was badly mangled, and the driver became trapped between the steering wheel and the bonnet. Chaos ensued at the scene immediately following the accident.
Local youths promptly initiated rescue operations and alerted the police. Upon arriving at the scene, the police team—with the assistance of local residents—undertook a strenuous effort to extricate the driver from the truck. The injured driver was rushed to a nearby hospital to receive first aid.
Traffic movement in the area was also disrupted for a brief period due to the accident. The police have registered a case and have commenced an investigation into the causes of the mishap.
Probable Causes:
Based on preliminary information, excessive speed and a loss of control over the vehicle are believed to be the primary causes of the accident.
