Nangal:- A truck collided with a car and a motorcycle near the MP’s residence on the Nangal–Sri Anandpur Sahib main road yesterday. The accident was so severe that the truck overturned in the middle of the road, while the car and motorcycle were also badly damaged. A 27-year-old motorcyclist lost his life in the accident.
ASI Pritam Singh of Nangal Police Station said that the truck, coming from Sri Anandpur Sahib, collided with a car heading towards Chandigarh. Following the collision, the truck overturned in the middle of the road. The car was also badly damaged, but the opening of its airbags helped prevent more serious injuries. Four people were travelling in the car, two of whom sustained injuries. A motorcyclist also died in the accident.
The deceased has been identified as Saurabh, a resident of G-Block, Nangal, who worked as a courier boy. The police have registered a case, he said. The truck driver also sustained injuries in the accident. Saurabh was around 27 years old and is survived by two young children. News of the accident plunged his family members and acquaintances into grief.
