Edmonton (Canada):- A launch event and Kavi Darbar of the new book **'Tur Chaan Di Tor'** by renowned poet Madam Baksh Sangha was organized at the Edmonton Public Library (Meadows, 17 Street) with the joint efforts of Sab Rang Sahitya Sabha and Vishwa Punjabi Sabha Canada. The event was presided over by renowned poet and narrator Dalbir Singh Riar, Amritpal Singh Amrit and Satnam Singh Gahle.
Balwinder Balam, patron of Sab Rang Sahitya Sabha, while expressing his views on the book, said that **'Tur Chaan Di Tor'** is a unique work based on dialects and tapas. This book includes 668 dialects and 245 tapas, which go beyond traditional topics and effectively present the changing conditions of modern society, the breakdown of human relationships, social challenges and truth.
He said that Madam Baksh Sangha has very effectively depicted topics like blood-flesh relationships, father-in-law, male-female relations, sadhs' camps, agriculture, dowry system, social and political conditions, migration and family sensibilities through dialects and tapas. He said that the works have a beautiful blend of rhythm, imagery, symbols, metaphors and folk language, which gives them an effective expression like folk tales and proverbs.
Balwinder Balam said that issues like the changing social conditions of Punjabis living in Canada, the distance in relationships, misuse of law and the blind race for money have also been sensitively presented in the book. He congratulated Madam Baksh Sangha, describing this work as an important research contribution.
In the Kavi Darbar held on this occasion, Dalbir Singh Riar, Amritpal Singh Amrit, Balwinder Balam, Satnam Singh Gahle, Karnail Singh (Germany), Jasvir Singh Sangha, Darshan Singh, Sukhdev Singh, Narinder Singh Manager, Harjinder Singh, D.S. Paras, Swaran Singh Brar, Joginder Singh Brar, Sukhwinder Singh Dhillon, Darshan Singh Sran, Bhupinder Singh Sandhu, Urduman Singh Gill, Amarjit Singh Brar, Sarabjit Singh Sidhu and Ajmer Singh Rai graced the audience with their works. Karnail Singh conducted the stage effectively.
