Nawanshahr: A seminar on human rights was organized by the Human Rights Awareness Manch Society (Regd.), Nawanshahr, at the Integrated Rehabilitation Centre for Addicts (Red Cross), Nawanshahr. The event was presided over by Project Director S. Chaman Singh. Addressing the gathering, he stated that every human has the right to life. He emphasized that as a person grows, they encounter both virtues and vices. By adopting good habits, a human first protects their own body, respects themselves, eats healthy, and works to make society aware.
He further noted that people filled with vices fail to protect themselves and instead harass or distress others—often snatching the rights of women, the poor, or those of different castes. "We should live our lives based on the principle of 'Live and let live'," he added. Social worker Bahadur Chand Arora provided insights into human rights and pledged that the society would always stand up for them. Society President Vasdev Pardesi outlined the organization's work, promising leadership in protecting human rights, and educated the attendees on their legal rights.
During the event, Navroj Sarangal, a member of the society, was honored with a certificate of appreciation for his outstanding services. The seminar was attended by a large number of people, including Smt. Ranjeet (Sainik Welfare Office, Nawanshahr), Manjit Singh, Vijay Kumar, Dinesh Kumar, Kamala Rani, Komalpreet Kaur, Parveen Kumari, patients, and their family members.
