Sahibzada Ajit Singh Nagar, 21 August:- For establishing direct contact with people and knowing their views regarding pro-people schemes and development works of Government by Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann led Aam Aadmi Party Government, under series of 'Lok Milni' programmes started, Lok Milni programmes were held at village Raipur Kalan and Maujpur of Assembly constituency Mohali.
On this occasion MLA from Mohali and senior leader of Aam Aadmi Party Kulwant Singh directly interacted with villagers, heard their problems and reviewed ongoing and completed development works. Talking with journalists MLA Kulwant Singh said that large participation of people during Lok Milni programmes shows trust of people towards Government policies and development works.
He said that four and half years ago people of Punjab handed over power to Aam Aadmi Party with big hopes and enthusiasm. Government has been continuously working to fulfill promises made with people and guarantees given by National Convenor of party Arvind Kejriwal. He said that along with conveying information of works done by Government to people, suggestions and feedback of people at ground level are also being taken.
MLA Kulwant Singh said that in village Raipur Kalan under 'Rangla Punjab' campaign 5 lakh rupees have been released for construction of drains. Under same campaign 10 lakh rupees have been released for repair of road from Landran Road to Phirni. In village Chowk of Dharamshala has been prepared at cost of about 8 lakh rupees, while 6.5 lakh rupees have been released for assistance to 4 needy families.
He said that in village Raipur Kalan sports ground is being constructed at cost of 37 lakh rupees and under 'Rangla Punjab' campaign 5 lakh rupees have been released for Sarpanch Wala Chowk.
He said that in village Maujpur also under 'Rangla Punjab' campaign 5 lakh rupees have been released for laying pipes in place of streets-drains. 7 lakh rupees for construction of remaining part of Phirni, 4 lakh rupees for street lights and 3 lakh rupees have been released for laying paver from link road to school.
MLA said that in Maujpur library is being constructed at cost of about 35 lakh rupees. Apart from this assistance of 4 lakh rupees has been released for 2 needy families. He said that under Thapar Model pond of village is being renovated at cost of about 16 lakh rupees.
Kulwant Singh said that detailed review of development works being carried out in villages by Punjab Government is being done and works which are still remaining will also be completed on priority basis. He said that main objective of Government is to strengthen basic infrastructure of villages and provide better facilities to people.
MLA said that there is peaceful atmosphere in Assembly constituency Mohali and development works are being carried out by Government without any discrimination. He said that voluntary large participation of people in Lok Milni programmes is expression that people are satisfied with working of Government.
He claimed that on basis of fulfilling promises made with people by Aam Aadmi Party and works being done for all-round development of State, people of Punjab are ready to again give opportunity to serve to Aam Aadmi Party under leadership of Bhagwant Singh Mann in 2027 Assembly elections also.
