Karnal, October 11: In Karnal, Haryana, MP Deepender Singh Hooda stated today that the government is committing a grave injustice against the family of senior ADGP-rank IPS officer Puran Kumar. He demanded that the entire case be investigated under the supervision of a sitting Supreme Court judge, as justice cannot be expected from an SIT investigation. Hooda arrived at the residence of Ram Sharan Bhola, a former member of the Haryana Staff Selection Commission, in Karnal, where he was welcomed by Congress leaders and members of various sections of society. Saints from the Ravidas Sabha and the Ravidas Temple also arrived and blessed MP Deepender Singh Hooda.
He stated that Mr. Bhola is a family member and was impressed by the way he brought together people from all walks of life. He was accompanied by former ministers Bhim Singh Mehta, Satish Saini, Surjeet Singh Saini, Rakesh Kamboj, Sumita Singh, Congress city president Parag Gaba, and Rajesh Vaidya. When a senior IPS officer in Haryana is not getting justice under the BJP government, what can the common people expect from the government?
Every person in the country with humanity and faith in the Constitution wants justice and should be seen to be done. Justice means that the guilty should receive the harshest punishment in an impartial investigation. A fair investigation will be possible only when the country has confidence that no one will influence the investigation, that no innocent person is implicated, and that no guilty person is spared. He questioned why the government has remained silent so far and why no statement has been issued even after five days.
This government was not formed on public sentiment, which is why such insensitivity is visible. Democracy runs on public shame and public sympathy. He said that the entire country, including the Dalit community, is looking towards the national and state governments to ensure that justice is done and the guilty are punished severely. The government should ensure that the family receives justice, there is no delay; justice is seen to be done, and no one can influence the investigation. Until the family receives justice, we will fight at every level as a responsible opposition.
MP Deepender Hooda said that if a senior and promising IPS officer is forced to take such a step as suicide, you can imagine what must be going on. Allegations of harassment, caste discrimination, and persecution against senior police officers, the chief guardians of law and order, raise serious questions about the entire system. Today, the entire system is under suspicion. When those who deliver justice are themselves under the scanner, it is natural for the entire system to be questioned.
MP Deepender Hooda demanded that a fair and independent investigation is possible only if an SIT is conducted under the supervision of a sitting Supreme Court judge, so that the truth can be revealed and those identified as guilty receive the harshest punishment. Following the example of Karnataka and Maharashtra, large-scale irregularities were committed in the voter list in Haryana. Incidents of law and order being violated are being reported daily in Karnal. To win the elections, it was said that farmers would be given a price of Rs 3100 and women would be given Rs 2100. But after the elections, farmers are not even getting the MSP, while various conditions have been imposed on women.
Deepender Hooda said that the BJP government has done no work in the last 11 years. Not only has it derailed Haryana from the path of development, but it has also derailed Haryana's politics and put it on the track of negative politics. He made the people pledge that they will fight on the path of truth until there is change in Haryana. The Congress Party will play the role of a positive opposition in Haryana.
