Fatehabad, December 14: The protest held under the banner of the Joint Kisan Morcha in front of the Mahindra tractor agency in the city's auto market ended on Sunday. ??Farmer leaders Manphool Dhaka and Sandeep Kajla said that a few days ago, Mandeep, a farmer from Tamaspura, had purchased a Mahindra tractor costing over 8 lakh rupees. However, after only three days, the engine and oil developed some defects, and the farmer contacted the agency.
At that time, the agency owners said they would replace the tractor with a new one, but after several days of stalling, the agency finally refused to replace the tractor three days ago.
After this, the matter came to the attention of various farmer unions, and they all joined together under the banner of the Joint Kisan Morcha and staged a protest in front of the Mahindra agency, demanding that the farmer's legitimate demand be met and he be given relief. A meeting was held today between various office bearers of the auto market and the leaders of the Joint Kisan Morcha.
In this meeting, it was decided that the auto market would keep the defective tractor, and the farmer would be given a new one. In addition, there were some complaints about three or four other tractors that had been delivered. The agency owners assured that these tractors would have a 6-year warranty, and the company would repair any defects.
On this occasion, the farmer leaders also cautioned farmers that in the future, if they purchase any tractor, they should obtain an affidavit from the concerned company and agency beforehand to avoid such problems later. The farmer leaders said that today, farmers are increasingly falling into the clutches of corporate rule, and farmers need to be more aware and organize themselves than ever before.
Because the future is going to be even more full of crises and challenges. On this occasion, leaders of various farmer organizations, including Jarnail Singh Malwala of Kheti Bachao Union, Satbir Singh, Ajmer Singh of Bharatiya Kisan Union Chaduni, Jagtar Singh of Kisan Sabha, Pawan Bhuthan from Naujawan Sabha, and a large number of farmers from surrounding villages were present.
