Chandigarh:- The India-Pakistan T20 World Cup match will be played in Colombo on February 15. This match has created a lot of excitement among cricket lovers. Within minutes of the Pakistan government withdrawing its decision to boycott the match, air fares have seen a huge jump. The round-trip fare for Mumbai-Colombo flights has increased by Rs 10,000 and now the round-trip cost per person has reached around Rs 60,000.
Cricket fans are rushing to book tickets and flights to watch this high-profile match, due to which the demand has increased. The hike in airfares began after Pakistan Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif officially confirmed that his team would take on India on February 15. Pakistan took the decision after appeals from friendly countries like Bangladesh, Sri Lanka and the UAE and discussions with the ICC.
The decision has ended the uncertainty surrounding the most expensive and watched match of the tournament but at the same time, it is putting a heavy burden on the pockets of fans who plan their travel at the last minute. Flight ticket prices are likely to increase further as the match days approach and seats are filling up fast.
