Karnal, July 1: Ashok Kumar Sirsi, Chairman of the Haryana Livestock Development Board, participated alongside Pundri MLA Satpal Jamba in the inauguration ceremony of 325 'Amrit Sarovars' (rejuvenated water bodies), constructed at a cost of approximately ?222.07 crore by Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini. On this occasion, he described the initiative as a historic achievement for water conservation and rural development in the state.
Chairman Ashok Kumar Sirsi stated that the Haryana government is continuously undertaking public welfare initiatives while prioritizing water conservation, environmental protection, and rural development. The Amrit Sarovar scheme will play a pivotal role in addressing the water crisis, raising groundwater levels, and conserving natural resources across the state. He noted that under the leadership of Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini, Haryana is transforming water conservation into a mass movement. The inauguration of these 325 Amrit Sarovars marks a historic milestone for the state, the benefits of which will be reaped by future generations as well.
He added that the construction of these Amrit Sarovars would facilitate rainwater harvesting, improve groundwater levels, assist farmers with irrigation, and make the village environment cleaner and greener. This will also yield long-term benefits for livestock rearers and strengthen the rural economy.
Expressing gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, he described the Amrit Sarovar campaign as a visionary initiative that strengthens the ethos of water conservation across the country. By effectively implementing this campaign, the Haryana government has undertaken remarkable work in the field of water conservation.
He further emphasized that "water ensures a future" (*jal hai toh kal hai*). It is the collective responsibility of all citizens to actively participate in maintaining the cleanliness and preservation of these Amrit Sarovars. Only through public participation will this water conservation campaign succeed, paving the way for a greener and more prosperous Haryana.
During the event, Haryana Livestock Development Board Chairman Ashok Kumar Sirsi and Pundri MLA Satpal Jamba were present and reiterated their commitment to taking this water conservation campaign to every citizen. 
He expressed confidence that under the leadership of Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini, schemes related to development, environmental conservation, and public welfare in the state would continue to progress steadily, and Haryana would further strengthen its standing among the country's leading states.
