Una, July 3: Dr. Suresh Kumar, Coordinator of IGNOU Study Center 1109 (Una), announced that the university has launched an MSc (Climate Change) postgraduate program. Graduates from any discipline are eligible to enroll in this two-year multidisciplinary course.
He explained that the program aims to provide students with comprehensive knowledge regarding the scientific, social, and policy-related aspects of climate change. Key topics included in the curriculum are climate science, climate risk, adaptation and mitigation strategies, environmental governance, and sustainable development.
Additionally, the course will cover subjects such as water resource management, energy, agriculture, disaster risk reduction, biodiversity conservation, waste management, the circular economy, environmental law, and climate assessment. The program seeks to produce competent professionals capable of analyzing climate change challenges from a scientific perspective and developing sustainable, effective solutions.
Dr. Suresh Kumar also informed that the deadline for re-registration for the July 2026 session has been extended to July 15, 2026. Currently enrolled students can complete their re-registration online by the specified date.
