Hoshiarpur: MLA Dr. Ishank Kumar attended a football tournament held in Maili village, part of the Chabbewal Assembly constituency; he boosted the players' morale and congratulated the organizers for the initiative. Addressing the villagers, he provided details regarding the ?61 lakh grant released for Maili's development and the status of ongoing and completed development projects. He mentioned that work on upgrading the stadium at a cost of ?15 lakh is also underway to provide better sports facilities for the youth.
Dr. Ishank Kumar stated that various projects are being executed systematically to further strengthen the village's infrastructure. The road connecting Hoshiarpur-Mahilpur to Maili, which had been damaged by floods, was repaired at a cost of ?10 lakh, providing significant relief to local residents regarding traffic movement. Additionally, work on the village's streets and drainage systems has been completed at a cost of ?9 lakh. Projects involving the construction of a shed at the village cremation ground and the installation of a runoff control system for rainwater drainage have also been successfully completed.
He further informed that a rainwater recharge-cum-silt detention structure is being constructed at a cost of ?21.62 lakh with the aim of conserving water and improving groundwater levels; this structure will play a crucial role in future water conservation and flood mitigation.
MLA Dr. Ishank Kumar stated that under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann, the Punjab government is fully committed to the holistic development of villages, and development works tailored to specific needs are being carried out in every village of the Chabbewal Assembly constituency. He added that every legitimate demand of the people is being met on a priority basis, and this pace of development will continue in the future. On this occasion, Zila Parishad member Charanjit Bunty thanked Dr. Ishank and stated that not only the people of Maili village but all residents of the Chabbewal Assembly constituency wholeheartedly appreciate the work he is doing. Sarpanch Ashok Kumar, Kuldeep Raj Laddu, Sukhvir Singh, and Samiti member Kundan Lal, among others, were also present at the event.
