Chandigarh, October 30-Haryana Chief Minister Naib Singh Saini said that for the protection of cows, Gau Bhagats will have to create public awareness. Gau Seva is the moral responsibility of everyone. He appealed to the people not to leave cows on the roads and become partners in the efforts to make Gaushalas self-reliant. Use products made from cow dung and cow urine. He also announced to give Rs 21 lakh from his endowment fund to Shri Krishna Gaushala, Karnal.

The Chief Minister was speaking as the chief guest at the Gopashtami Mahotsav organized at Shri Krishna Gaushala on Thursday. Earlier, he worshipped the cows in the cowshed, fed them and visited the medical facility built here and reviewed the services being provided for the cow family. The Chief Minister, while extending greetings on Gopashtami, said that this is a sacred day of Indian Sanatan life which connects us with culture, brotherhood and love. It is not just a festival but a symbol of service and responsibility.

Social and spiritual importance of Gau Mata
Chief Minister Naib Singh Saini said that while Gau Mata has social and spiritual importance, it has also been associated with cow dung. In ancient times, the more cows a person had, the stronger he was. One of the 14 gems that came out of the Samandar Manthan was the Kamadhenu cow. He anointed Kamadhenu Shri Krishna and named him Govind. Since then, Ashtami has been celebrated as Gopashtami.

Cow's milk is beneficial
Chief Minister Naib Singh Saini said that the cow is also said to have spiritual and miraculous qualities. The cow is given the status of a mother. Its milk is considered equal to nectar. He said that the research done by scientists has proven that the milk of indigenous cow is very beneficial in many diseases. It is considered as good as mother's milk.
Several steps taken for promotion and protection
Chief Minister Naib Singh Saini said that the government has taken several steps for the development of gaushalas, protection of the cow family and promotion of natural farming. 11 years ago, only a grant of 2 crores was given to the Gau Seva Commission, but after coming to power, the BJP government increased it continuously. He said that in 2014, there were 1.75 lakh cows in 215 registered cowsheds in the state, but today there are more than 4 lakh cows in 686 cowsheds. The process of purchasing 800 e-rickshaws for cowsheds is underway. Electricity is being provided to cowsheds at Rs 2 per unit. Stamp duty for registering land for cowsheds has been abolished.

Shed construction continues in cowsheds
Chief Minister Naib Singh Saini said that for the examination of cows, veterinary medical services have been imposed in cowsheds with more than 3 thousand cows per week and VLDA duty has been imposed in cowsheds with less than this number. A decision has been taken to provide a grant of Rs 10 lakh per cowshed for the construction of sheds in cowsheds. Sheds have been constructed in 51 cowsheds and work is in progress in the remaining ones.
Fodder Grant
He said that Rs. 88.5 crore has been given as fodder grant to 605 cowsheds. A grant of Rs. 388.6 crore has been given to registered cowsheds for fodder in 11 years. Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi has implemented the National Gokul Mission for the promotion and protection of indigenous breed cows. He said that the government is making efforts to improve the breed of villages and make cowsheds self-sufficient. Products like natural phenyl, organic fertilizer, cow dung pots, lamps, soap, uplay pots, sundew, cow dung are being made from cow dung and cow dung. Assistance is being provided to cowsheds for the purchase of necessary machinery as per the demand for Panchgav production. A grant of Rs 6 crore 50 lakh has been provided to 101 cow shelters in the state.
He said that a strict law has been made for the protection of cow mother. A provision of ten years in jail has been made for the person who kills a cow and seven years in jail for the person who smuggles a cow. Mr. Saini said that for the protection of villages, cow devotees will have to run a public awareness campaign.
Shedding light on the importance of Gopashtami
Earlier, Geeta Manishi Swami Gyananand Maharaj shed light on the importance of Gopashtami. He said that cow mother is not an ordinary creature but the life of the true traditions. If the life is safe, then life will be safe in a positive way. He said that we all should raise cows. There is no greater service than cow service.
