Nawanshahr (Des Raj Bali):- The service of organising free eye surgery camps, initiated in November 2019 by the Dhési family of Alipur, currently residing in the UK, in dedication to the 550th Parkash Purab of Dhan Dhan Sahib Sri Guru Nanak Dev Ji, continues uninterrupted. The Guru Nanak Mission Sewa Society, Nawanshahr, organises a free eye surgery camp every year during its annual Maha Kirtan Darbar, where hundreds of needy people receive free eye surgeries. This year, the camp will be held before the Maha Kirtan Darbar, on Tuesday, October 27, at the newly constructed rooms in Municipal Public Park, Canal Road, Nawanshahr.

Sharing this information, Surjit Singh, chief sewadar of Guru Nanak Mission Sewa Society, and Didar Singh, deputy chief sewadar, said that the society had started a series of Maha Kirtan Darbars dedicated to the 550th Parkash Purab of Sri Guru Nanak Dev Ji. The Dhési family has also been providing the service of organising a free eye surgery camp every year on this occasion.

They said that the brothers—Sohan Singh Dhési, late Mohan Singh Dhési, Didar Singh Dhési and Balbir Singh Dhési, all associated with the UK—first began this service in November 2019. By the grace of Waheguru, the family has continued organising the free eye surgery camp every year since then.

They further said that, for the first time this year, the Guru Nanak Mission Sewa Society is organising the camp at the newly constructed rooms in Municipal Public Park instead of at the society's office. The camp will begin at 9:00 a.m. on October 27. Eye examinations will be conducted on the same day, and patients found eligible for surgery will undergo operations the following day at Mandeep Eye Hospital, Nawanshahr. Surgery dates will be provided during the examination.

They appealed to needy people from across the region to make maximum use of this camp.

On this occasion, other society members, including Uttam Singh Sethi, Haqiqat Singh, Dr Bhagwan Singh, Jaswinder Singh Saini, Baldev Singh, Ramneek Singh, Jagdeep Singh, Inderjit Singh Bahra, Jagjit Singh Bata, Rampal Rai, Bakhshish Singh Saini, Baba Gian Singh and Gurpal Singh, were also present.
