Ambala, October 24 (R. Singh):- The Valmiki Front Sabha organised a procession on Saturday evening at Pragati Vihar in Ambala Cantonment to celebrate the birth anniversary of Maharishi Valmiki. Haryana Energy, Transport and Labour Minister Anil Vij attended the event as the chief guest.
Mr. Vij paid obeisance before the idols of Shri Narmadeshwar Mahadev and Maharishi Valmiki at the Bhagwan Valmiki Temple complex in Pragati Vihar and sought the blessings of the deities. He extended greetings to everyone on the occasion of Maharishi Valmiki’s birth anniversary. Earlier, upon his arrival, the Energy Minister was welcomed with garlands by the temple management committee, Valmiki Front Sabha and others. On the occasion, he announced a donation of ₹25 lakh from his discretionary fund to the Valmiki Front Sabha for the construction of Maharishi Valmiki Dharamshala in Pragati Vihar.
The Energy Minister extended his heartfelt greetings to everyone present and said that people should make their lives meaningful by following the teachings and principles of Maharishi Valmiki. During the programme, office-bearers of the Sabha warmly welcomed the chief guest by tying a turban on him as a mark of respect and presenting him with a memento.
Those present on the occasion included Municipal Council Vice-President Lalit Prasad, Valmiki Front Sabha Ambala President Hitesh Honey, Vice-President Kala Ji, Hero Lal Pehalwan, Councillor Gaurav Saini, Councillor Shyam Sundar, SC Morcha President Mahinder, BJP leader Aarti Sehgal, and other members of the Sabha and dignitaries.
