Chandigarh, September 12:- A deeply tragic and shocking news has emerged from the political and social circles of Haryana. Gaganjot Sandhu, son of late Jaswinder Singh Sandhu, who was a four-time MLA from the Pehowa constituency of Kurukshetra district, and a former Agriculture Minister, allegedly died by suicide under suspicious circumstances on Friday.
Gaganjot shot himself at his farmhouse in Chandigarh. As soon as information about the incident was received, a team of Chandigarh Police and forensic experts immediately reached the spot and started an investigation. However, it is not yet known whether any suicide note was found at the scene or what prompted Gaganjot to take this horrific step.
According to family sources and eyewitnesses, Gaganjot Sandhu had left his home district Kurukshetra for Chandigarh on Friday morning. After reaching Chandigarh, he stayed at his farmhouse, where the sound of a sudden gunshot during the afternoon created panic in the area. By the time passersby reached the spot, Gaganjot was lying in a pool of blood. The police were immediately informed, but by then he had breathed his last. The news of Gaganjot’s untimely death, who had twice served as the sarpanch of his native village Gumthala Garhu, sent a wave of grief across the Pehowa and Kurukshetra areas.
