Ratia, October 24- Farmers in Hukmawali village have not yet been provided with baler machines for stubble disposal. Farmers gathered in the village fields said that the administration is limited to meetings and promises, with no ground-level implementation. This has caused widespread resentment among farmers.
Comrade Nirbhay Ratia, District President of the Bharatiya Kisan Union (Ekta Ugrahan), said that if administrative officials file a case or impose a fine on any farmer for stubble burning, farmers will dump trolleys full of stubble at the gates of Agriculture Department officials and SDM offices.
He said that instead of criminalizing farmers, the government and administration should provide resources for stubble management. Taking action against anyone until farmers are provided with balers and other necessary equipment is unjust.
Bharatiya Kisan Union (Ekta Ugrahan) is fighting for the rights of farmers and if the administration does not fulfill its responsibility then a big protest will be held at the district level.
Farmers present on the occasion, Sardul Singh, Gurpreet Singh, Viru Singh, Prakash Chand, Jaggi Singh, Gurdial Singh, Sandeep Singh, Nathu Ram, Avtar Singh, Jagtar Singh, Sardul Singh, explained their problems while showing the paddy straw lying in the fields.
