Garhshankar, 26 September:- Punjab Vidhan Sabha Deputy Speaker and Garhshankar MLA S. Jai Krishan Singh Rouri distributed health cards to eligible beneficiaries under the ‘Mukh Mantri Sehat Yojana’ at village Binewal. A large number of village residents participated in the programme.
Deputy Speaker Rouri said that health is a basic need of every family and the Punjab Government is implementing various public welfare schemes at the grassroots level to provide better healthcare facilities to the people. He said that under the ‘Mukh Mantri Sehat Yojana’, eligible beneficiaries will get free treatment facilities up to Rs 10 lakh. This is expected to provide significant financial relief to needy families at the time of serious illness or when treatment is required.
He said that the government’s objective is to ensure that economically weaker families are not deprived of healthcare facilities due to lack of treatment. Through the health card, eligible families will be able to avail treatment under the scheme at designated hospitals.
Not only this, Deputy Speaker Rouri also announced a grant of Rs 10 lakh for the development of the Dharamshala in village Binewal. He said that development of common facilities in villages is also among the government’s priorities. Development of the Dharamshala will provide better facilities to villagers for social and community functions.
The Deputy Speaker said that development works are being carried out in the villages of Garhshankar constituency keeping in view the basic needs of the people. Priority is being given to works related to roads, water, sewerage, street lights, playgrounds, Dharamshalas and other public facilities.
During the programme, Deputy Speaker Rouri met the villagers and listened to their problems and demands. He assured them that necessary steps would be taken through the concerned departments to resolve the genuine demands raised by the people.
The villagers thanked Deputy Speaker S. Jai Krishan Singh Rouri for distributing health cards and providing a Rs 10 lakh grant for the Dharamshala. They said that the initiative related to healthcare facilities would be beneficial for needy families and the grant received for the Dharamshala would improve the village’s common facility.
Panchayat members, senior party leaders, officials of various departments and a large number of village residents were present on the occasion.
