Una, October 23:- To make the city clean, beautiful and environmentally friendly, the Una Municipal Corporation is conducting a special e-waste (electronic waste) collection campaign until October 31. Under the campaign, unused electronic and electrical appliances will be collected from households to ensure their proper disposal and promote environmental protection.

Una Municipal Corporation Commissioner Prithipal Singh said that the Municipal Corporation regularly collects e-waste from households through sanitation workers on the 10th, 20th and 30th of every month. To make this initiative more effective, a special campaign has been launched with the aim of collecting a larger quantity of electronic waste and ensuring its proper management and disposal.

Items Residents Can Hand Over

During the campaign, residents can hand over unused LED bulbs, tube lights, faulty lights, old mobile phones, mobile chargers, earphones, computers, keyboards, mice, monitors, CPUs, laptops, tablets, printers, damaged wires, cables, plugs, extension boards, old televisions, radios, speakers, remote controls, electronic toys, circuit boards, computer parts, mixers, toasters, electric kettles, old routers, modems and other unused electrical and electronic appliances lying in their homes and establishments to the Municipal Corporation's sanitation workers.

Keep E-Waste Separate from General Waste

The Municipal Commissioner has urged residents not to mix electronic waste with ordinary household garbage or dump it in open spaces. Improper disposal of certain substances present in e-waste can be harmful to the environment and human health. Therefore, it is essential to collect such waste separately and hand it over for proper disposal.

The Commissioner said that cleanliness is not just the responsibility of the administration but a collective responsibility of every citizen. Active public participation will help ensure better e-waste management and strengthen efforts to create a clean and pollution-free environment.

He appealed to all residents to participate enthusiastically in the special campaign being conducted from October 22 to 31 and hand over unused electronic and electrical appliances accumulated in their homes to the Municipal Corporation's sanitation workers.
