Banga/Nawanshahr- The PG Commerce Department of Sikh National College celebrated Diwali and Bandi Chhor Diwas with great enthusiasm and festive spirit under the able leadership of Principal Dr. Tarsem Singh Bhinder. The celebration was organized under the initiative “Learn to Earn: Entrepreneurship Development Skills with Diwali Spirit”. The aim of the celebration was to blend traditional festivals with the promotion of entrepreneurial development and eco-friendly values ??among students.
As part of the celebration, students showcased their creativity and entrepreneurial talent by setting up stalls of diyas, candles, pakodas and jalebis. They prepared and sold their handmade eco-friendly diyas and candles, spreading awareness about environmental protection and sustainable celebrations. The students also actively participated in cleaning and decorating the classrooms and college premises using eco-friendly materials.
Their efforts not only beautified the campus but also gave a strong message of a clean and green Diwali. Hon’ble Principal Dr. Tarsem Singh Bhinder appreciated the sincere efforts of the students and staff, highlighting that such activities instill confidence, leadership, teamwork and economic self-reliance in the students. Local Management Secretary S Jarnail Singh also appreciated the initiative.
Head of the Department Dr. Kamaldeep Kaur emphasized that such events provide real-world exposure to marketing, customer interaction, teamwork and business management skills. She also appealed to the students to celebrate a clean and green Diwali by avoiding pollution-causing materials.
The entire celebration created a vibrant and meaningful atmosphere in the college, which was a blend of learning, earning and social responsibility. Dr. Davinder Kaur, Prof. Ramandeep Kaur, Prof. Manraj Kaur, Prof. Hardeep Kaur, Prof. Avneet Kaur, Prof. Deepika, Prof. Priya Ladher, Prof. Gurinder Kaur, Prof. Manisha and other faculty members of the college were present on the occasion.
