The last date for video submission for the pilot phase of 'GEMS OF INDIA CHALLENGE 2026' being organized with the aim of highlighting India's diversity, culture, heritage and local stories at the national level has been extended. Now participants can submit their videos from 1 September to 30 September 2026.
Through this challenge, participants can present unique stories, culture, heritage, architecture, tourism, local traditions and folk tales of their area through a 1 to 3 minute video. Its objective is to bring forward the unknown and unique 'Gems' present in different regions of the country and give them recognition at the national level.
In this competition, there is a chance to win prizes up to Rs. 50,000 at district level, Rs. 2 lakh at Union Territory level and Rs. 5 lakh at national level.
To participate, candidates have to go to WAVES OTT and register in MyWAVES. After this, they have to select the 'Gems of India Challenge 2026' program and upload and submit their 1-3 minute video.
The eligible areas for the pilot phase include Andaman and Nicobar Islands, Arunachal Pradesh, Chandigarh, Dadra and Nagar Haveli and Daman and Diu, Goa and Ladakh.
Youth, students, artists, content creators and general citizens of Chandigarh are appealed to participate maximum in this national level challenge by presenting the unique stories of their city and region in a creative manner.
