Congress and Aam Aadmi Party’s wrong policies have pushed Punjab backwards: CM Nayab Singh Saini

Chandigarh, 26 September:- Haryana Chief Minister Shri Nayab Singh Saini said that a yatra was being taken out to make Punjab drug-free. He said the people of Punjab should stand united against drugs so that Punjab could be made drug-free as well as economically strong.

Chief Minister Shri Nayab Singh Saini was addressing public representatives from Nawanshahr at Sant Kabir Kutir. He welcomed the team of Tempo Union president Kamaljit Rana into the BJP by draping party symbol scarves around its members and extended congratulations and best wishes to them on joining the party.

In his address, the Chief Minister said that due to the wrong policies of the Congress and Aam Aadmi Party, Punjab has fallen behind today. He alleged that the Aam Aadmi Party government had turned out to be even more corrupt than the Congress and had worked to ruin the state. He said the people of Punjab had now firmly resolved to form a BJP government in Punjab under the leadership of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi and make it a strong and developed state.

The Chief Minister said that the AAP and Congress had promised employment to youth, corruption-free and drug-free governance and prosperity for farmers, but the people had now become fed up with these hollow promises. He said the people of Punjab had now decided to bring about a change. He said the people of Punjab had shown the Congress the way out due to its wrong policies and would now show the Aam Aadmi Party government the way out as well.

‘AAP government also lied by invoking Shaheed Bhagat Singh’s name’

The Chief Minister said that AAP chief Kejriwal had invoked honesty, employment for 20 lakh youth and the slogan of Shaheed Bhagat Singh, due to which people fell into his trap. He said Kejriwal had also betrayed the people of Punjab. Sardar Bhagat Singh had sacrificed his life with the thought that future generations could breathe in an atmosphere of freedom and live a secure life. He alleged that the AAP government had also insulted him. He said the AAP government should apologise to the people of Punjab for making false promises in the name of Shaheed Bhagat Singh. The Chief Minister said that they were no longer common people but had become special people who had no concern for the youth.

He said Punjab was not merely a state but a symbol of culture and thought and had once been the number-one state in the country. It was the sacred land of Gurus, saints, martyrs and bravehearts. The people here were very hardworking and lived their lives with mutual love and affection.

Shri Nayab Singh Saini said that the people of Punjab had given them five years. During this tenure, they should have served the people by doing better work. But, he alleged, the AAP and Congress governments had only worked to “loot” Punjab and its innocent people.

Referring to the work done by the state government in Haryana, the Chief Minister said that the BJP government in Haryana had set an example by providing employment to youth without “parchi-kharchi”. He said that as soon as a BJP government was formed in Punjab, development works would be carried out on the lines of Haryana and all public welfare policies would be implemented in the same manner to benefit the people.

The Chief Minister said that the Haryana government had enacted a law to crack down on those playing with the future of youth through the dunki route. If anyone did so, strict action would be taken against them. He said the government would also seal the centres of such agents. A Foreign Service Department had been established to help youth get employment abroad. He said the department brings vacancies from abroad, after which youth are selected and sent to foreign countries for employment.

Addressing the programme, Haryana Public Works Minister Shri Ranbir Gangwa said that wherever Haryana Chief Minister Shri Nayab Singh Saini had gone for campaigning, the party organisation had strengthened there and the government had been formed. He said that earlier he had gone to Maharashtra, Delhi and Assam, where BJP governments were also formed. He said that he was now touring Punjab, where the BJP family was also continuously expanding. He said this clearly indicated that the time for change had come.

Shri Gangwa said that the present government in Haryana had worked to fulfil the promises made to the people. He said that as soon as a government was formed in Punjab, better work would be undertaken from the very first day and Punjab would be made drug-free as well as economically strong and prosperous.

On this occasion, Nawanshahr district in-charge Jitender Atwal, Kapoor Singh, Kapil Kunal, Ashok Balocha, Dalip Singh, Javed, Balwinder, Gaurav Gaba, Yadvinder, Chief Minister’s OSD B.B. Bharti, Rakesh Sandhu, Foreign Service Advisor Pawan Choudhary and other dignitaries from Punjab were present.
