Chandigarh, March 4- The five-day (27th Feb to 4th march) workshop “Vedic Voice: Method and Utility” at Dayananda Chair for Vedic Studies, Punjab University, Chandigarh, concluded with Prof. S.K. Naresh Kumar Dhiman, Dayanand Chair Professor, Maharishi Dayanand Saraswati University, Ajmer, Rajasthan were present.
Prof. Dhiman gave an in-depth introduction to Vedic vowels and presented special quotations on their vocalization method. He also explained the harmony of secular words by giving examples of change of meaning of words contained in the Vedas through vowels. Prof. Explaining the process of vocal communication of various mantras quoted from the Vedas, Dhiman said that it is the vowels that represent the proper meanings of the Vedas, without the vowels it is impossible to understand the real meaning.
Dayanand Bench President Prof. Virendra Kumar Alankar explained the importance of tone and explained that even if the same word is said with different tones, their meanings change. Therefore, knowledge of Vedic tone is essential to understand the profound essence of Vedic mantras. Prof. Alankaar has also agreed to hold similar events in the future in view of the enthusiasm and desire of the students to learn.
Dr. Bhardwaj, Assistant Acharya of Dayananda Peeth, also explained the secret of vowel knowledge and said that it is possible to understand the meaning of the Vedas through vowels, because vowels determine the meaning of all verses and vowels are the means by which the Vedas are still reasonably preserved.
Finally, Prof. Alankar thanked all the teachers, students and research students present and referred to the two special programs started this year namely Special Lecture Series in memory of Acharya Ramnath Vedalankar, founder of Dayananda Peeth and Dayananda Vedic Siddhant Lecture Series.
