Mehatpur/Una, February 7 (Rohit Bhatia):- A dispute between two neighboring families during a wedding ceremony in Bhadrakali village, under Gagret police station in Una district, turned violent. The police have registered separate cases based on complaints from both sides and have started an investigation.
According to information received from the police, a wedding party was underway at the house of Kuldeep Singh on the evening of February 6.  During the celebrations, an argument broke out with his neighbor, Harmesh Singh. It is alleged that Harmesh Singh and his wife later verbally abused and physically assaulted Kuldeep Singh and his family. At around 10:50 PM, Harmesh Singh's son, Badal, and Satinder arrived at Kuldeep Singh's house with sticks and stones and broke the windowpanes. Some relatives sustained injuries in this incident.
The police have registered a case against Badal and Satinder under various sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS). On the other hand, Seema Devi also filed a complaint with the police, alleging that she had an argument with her mother-in-law, Pushpa Devi, during the wedding ceremony. The police arrived at the scene and took her to the hospital for a medical examination.
It is alleged that at around 9:30 PM, Kuldeep Singh's relatives, Saurabh and his son Abhishek, came to their courtyard and damaged flowerpots and other items with sticks and bricks. Although no one was injured in this incident, household items were damaged. The police have also registered a case against Saurabh and Abhishek under sections of the BNS based on this complaint.
Una ASP Sanjeev Bhatia said that the investigation into both cases is ongoing and further action will be taken based on the facts.
