Karnal, October 3 (Praveen Walia):- The Karnal District Police is continuously taking strict action to apprehend accused persons involved in criminal activities and recover stolen and snatched property. In this sequence, the CIA-1 team, constituted under the leadership of Inspector Sandeep Singh, In-charge, took effective action and succeeded in arresting the accused involved in a snatching incident.
The arrested accused has been identified as Shamir, son of Roop Hans, resident of Ward No. 8, Indri, District Karnal. Acting on secret information, the police team arrested the accused from the Western Yamuna Canal in Indri.
Giving information about the case, Investigating Officer Assistant Sub-Inspector Rajesh Kumar said that on October 2, 2026, during the afternoon, a person was walking along the canal bank when the accused, who came from behind, snatched his mobile phone after struggling with him and fled from the spot. In this regard, a case was registered at Nissing Police Station under the relevant sections pertaining to snatching.
During the investigation, the police team arrested accused Shamir and recovered the mobile phone snatched during the incident from his possession.
The police team produced the accused before the Hon’ble Court, which, as per the court’s orders, sent him to judicial custody in the District Jail.
