Chandigarh, November 3 - Haryana Chief Minister Mr. Naib Singh Saini congratulated and wished the Indian women's cricket team on becoming world champions and said that the daughters of the country have made India proud on the international stage and this achievement is a matter of pride for the entire nation.
The Chief Minister was addressing a press conference at Haryana Niwas here today.
He said that Haryana's daughter Shefali Verma, who was a part of this winning team, performed brilliantly in the final match and won the Player of the Match award. Shefali played a decisive innings and scored 87 runs and also played a key role in ensuring the team's victory by taking two important wickets.
The Chief Minister said that Shefali's brilliant performance is a symbol of the talent, hard work and determination of the daughters of Haryana, on which the entire state is proud. He said that the daughters of Haryana are today making the country proud in various sports and are becoming a source of inspiration for the coming generations. He said that the state government is constantly striving to promote sports and honor the players.
On this occasion, Chief Principal Secretary to the Chief Minister Mr. Rajesh Khullar, Commissioner and Secretary of the Information, Public Relations and Language Department Dr. Amit Gumar Agarwal, Director General of the Department Mr. K. Makrand Pandurang, Media Secretary to the Chief Minister Mr. Praveen Atre and many officials of the Kurukshetra Development Board were present.
