New Delhi:- The government today approved the ‘Bharat Sanyati Vikas Yojana’ (Bhavya) worth Rs 33,660 crore with the aim of boosting the manufacturing sector, under which 100 ‘plug-and-play’ industrial parks will be developed across the country. This scheme has been approved in a meeting chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, under which it is estimated that 15 lakh direct employment opportunities will be created.
Giving information about this decision, Information and Broadcasting Minister Ashwini Vaishnav said that this initiative will develop world-class industrial infrastructure in the country and give momentum to the manufacturing sector. Under this scheme, industrial parks ranging from 100 acres to one thousand acres will be developed for which financial assistance of up to Rs one crore per acre will be provided.
He said that the Cabinet has approved the construction of four-lane National Highway-927 between Barabanki and Bahraich in Uttar Pradesh at a cost of Rs 6,969.04 crore. The aim of this 101.51 km long road project is to provide seamless connectivity to important economic, social and transport hubs of Uttar Pradesh.
He said that the Central Government has decided to provide assistance to small hydropower projects under a new scheme of Rs 2,585 crore to develop clean energy capacity of about 1,500 MW. Under this scheme, financial assistance of up to 30 percent of the project cost or Rs 3.6 crore per MW will be provided.
He said that the Government has also approved the release of Rs 1718.56 crore to the Cotton Corporation of India towards the price support given under the MSP procurement regime in the cotton season 2023-24.
