Lehragaga/Sangrur, October 11:- Punjab Cabinet Minister Barinder Kumar Goyal has thanked Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann for providing grants totalling Rs 60 lakh for the development of Ballran and Lehal Khurd villages in the Lehragaga Assembly constituency. He said that the grant cheques of Rs 35 lakh for Ballran and Rs 25 lakh for neighbouring Lehal Khurd, handed over by the Chief Minister during a public interaction held in Ballran village, would further accelerate development works in both villages.

The Cabinet Minister said that under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann, the Punjab Government was committed to strengthening basic facilities in rural areas and carrying out development works according to people's needs. Special attention would be paid to ensuring the transparent and proper utilisation of the grants released, maintaining construction quality and completing the works on time.

The Cabinet Minister said that, alongside rural development, canal irrigation, education, healthcare and expanding employment opportunities for young people were also among the government's key objectives. He said that efforts to extend access to canal water and strengthen irrigation systems were important for families dependent on agriculture. Continuous coordination was also being maintained with the concerned departments to address the irrigation-related needs and problems of farmers in the Lehragaga constituency.

He said that programmes such as public interaction meetings were an important means of direct communication between the people and the government. These programmes help gather information about people's difficulties, suggestions and the needs of the area, thereby assisting in setting development priorities and working towards resolving public grievances.

Barinder Kumar Goyal thanked the people who participated enthusiastically in the public interaction meeting in Ballran village, especially mothers, sisters, young people and elderly residents.
