Leharagaga, October 3:- Cabinet Minister Shri Barinder Kumar Goyal today held a meeting with officials of the Irrigation, Canal and BML departments at his office in Leharagaga and reviewed the progress of various irrigation facilities and projects in the constituency, including canal outlets. He directed the officials to complete the pending projects on priority so that farmers could benefit from them in a timely manner.
During the meeting, Shri Goyal obtained information from the officials about the current status of ongoing and pending irrigation projects. While discussing issues related to canal outlets and the improvements required in irrigation management, he said that works should be prioritised keeping in view the needs of farmers.
The Cabinet Minister said that efficient irrigation facilities are extremely important for agriculture and that a smooth supply of canal water is a major facility for farmers. He said that completing irrigation-related projects on time would help reduce difficulties faced in agricultural activities and make existing facilities more effective.
Shri Goyal directed the officials that the departments concerned should work in coordination to complete the pending works. If any project is facing an obstacle at the departmental level, necessary action should be taken on priority to remove it. He also emphasised regular monitoring of the works and continued review of their progress.
He said that the issues faced by farmers relating to canal outlets and other irrigation facilities should be taken seriously and timely action should be ensured for their resolution. He asked the officials to work according to ground-level requirements so that the benefits of the projects could reach farmers.
The Cabinet Minister reiterated that strengthening irrigation facilities in the constituency and completing the pending projects are among his priorities. He said that the progress of these works would be reviewed continuously so that the irrigation-related needs of farmers could be met efficiently.
