Bhagat Singh’s ideology needs to be put into practice: Dr. Pyare Lal Garg

Mohali, September 30:- Former Registrar of Baba Farid University and noted thinker Dr. Pyare Lal Garg said that there is a need to put the ideology and principles of Shaheed-e-Azam Sardar Bhagat Singh into practice. He was addressing a function organised by Bhagat Puran Singh Environment Preservation Society.

Dr. Garg said that Bhagat Singh’s principles were humanistic and his thinking showed humanity the right path. He said that Bhagat Singh’s main objective was to make farmers, labourers and oppressed people aware of their rights and organise them to fight for their rights.

Environment Society President Gurmel Singh Maujowal said that it is necessary to take Bhagat Singh’s thinking, writings and ideas to every household, especially to acquaint the younger generation with them. He said that such efforts should continue to connect the youth with the ideology of the warriors who made sacrifices for the country.

At the function, Amarjit Kaur said that Bhagat Singh was born on the soil of Punjab and showed the path to the entire country and the world. Poet Gurnam Kanwar spoke about Bhagat Singh’s life and conveyed the message of his thinking through his poems. Writer Bhupinder Mataur Wala also presented his views and poems. Jagseer Singh Jida and his associates presented revolutionary songs.

On the occasion, students who secured first, second and third positions in Classes 8th, 10th and 12th in Mohali district were honoured. Social worker Captain Karnail Singh, former IPS officer and retired DIG Inderjit Singh, Phase-11 Councillor Gaurav Jain and former Councillor Kulwant Singh Kler were also honoured. The girls Gunataas Kaur and Mehtab Kaur, who presented revolutionary poems, were also honoured.

On the occasion, Dharampal Hoshiarpuri, Amarjit Singh, Satnam Singh Satta, Gurdeep Singh, Parvinder Singh, Nachhattar Singh Khiala, Amarjit Kaur, Amar Singh Dhaliwal, Baljit Singh, B.S. Nagpal, Fakir Chand, Harpal Singh Sodhi, Kuldeep Singh, Charan Singh, Raghbir Singh Sidhu, Gurjinder Singh, Harshdeep Sara and office-bearers of the society were present.
