Ashok Singhal’s Contribution to Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Movement Remembered; Chief Minister Attends Inaugural Ceremony of Ashok Singhal Birth Centenary Year

Chandigarh, September 27:- Haryana Chief Minister Shri Nayab Singh Saini paid tribute to Shri Ashok Singhal and said that he dedicated his talent, time and entire life to awakening India’s cultural consciousness. He also played an important role in taking the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi movement to many parts of the country through extensive public outreach and organisation. The Chief Minister said this while addressing the inaugural ceremony of the birth centenary year of Ashok Singhal, organised by the Vishwa Hindu Parishad at Gurugram University on Sunday. Before this, he also visited an exhibition based on the life and work of Ashok Singhal at the university campus. The Haryana government’s official release confirms the Chief Minister’s participation in the inaugural ceremony at Gurugram University on September 27, 2026.

Industries and Commerce Minister Rao Narbir Singh, Sohna MLA Tejpal Tanwar, Pataudi MLA Bimla Chaudhary, Gurugram MLA Mukesh Sharma and Mayor of Municipal Corporation Gurugram Rajrani Malhotra were present at the ceremony.

Ashok Singhal’s Life is an Inspiration for Youth

The Chief Minister said that the lives of some great personalities are such that their inspiration becomes deeper with time. Their ideals guide future generations and their sacrifices give strength to society. The life of Ashok Singhal is also a great lesson for the youth. Instead of pursuing opportunities for personal advancement, he chose to devote his knowledge and capabilities to the service of society.

Chief Minister Shri Nayab Singh Saini said that Ashok Singhal played an important role in connecting saints, religious leaders, social workers and ordinary families with broader cultural objectives. Despite diversity in India’s languages, attire and traditions, a sense of cultural togetherness is our distinctive feature. The life of Ashok Singhal inspires us to increase mutual dialogue, strengthen trust and develop a spirit of cooperation in society.

Appeal to Youth to Understand the Indian Knowledge Tradition

The Chief Minister said that understanding one’s traditions, asking questions, reading original scriptures and interacting with scholars enriches the personality of young people. Knowledge of one’s heritage gives self-confidence and inspires one to learn from the world and contribute something new to it. He said that only a tree with strong roots can rise high towards the sky.

Appeal to Link Birth Centenary Programmes with Service Activities

The Chief Minister appealed to the Vishwa Hindu Parishad and social organisations to connect the programmes of the birth centenary year with service activities. He called for taking forward initiatives such as supporting children’s education, blood donation, providing health assistance to needy families, planting trees and caring for the saplings planted, as well as conducting dialogue-based activities to keep young people away from drugs.

Message of Good Conduct Along with Cultural Pride

The Chief Minister said that the ceremony organised in memory of Ashok Singhal inspires people to sincerely fulfil their responsibilities towards society. He appealed to the youth to hone their skills, teachers to inculcate values among children, entrepreneurs to increase employment opportunities, and social organisations to provide assistance to needy families. He said that our cultural pride should be reflected in our good conduct and that we must ensure that no child around us remains deprived of education.

Acharya Lokesh Muni, recalling the life and resolve of Ashok Singhal, said that his dream was to see the grand construction of the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Temple in Ayodhya, the Shri Krishna Janmabhoomi Temple in Mathura and the Shri Kashi Vishwanath Temple in Kashi. He said that the construction of the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Temple is an important achievement in the direction of Ashok Singhal’s resolve. Taking forward his resolve associated with the Shri Krishna Janmabhoomi Temple in Mathura and the Shri Kashi Vishwanath Temple in Kashi would be a true tribute to Ashok Singhal. It is the responsibility of society to strengthen awareness of Indian culture, faith and heritage by taking forward his thoughts and resolves.
