Patiala:- A joint meeting was organized by the Environmental Protection Activity organization at Veer Haqiqat Rai School in Patiala city, in which senior office-bearers of the organizations doing commendable work in the field of environmental protection in Patiala city participated. In this meeting, Shri Praveen Ji, Provincial Coordinator, Environmental Protection Activity, and Pracharak of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh, played the role of the chief speaker. Along with this, Shri Baljinder Thakur, Department Sangh Chalak and former Member of the Human Rights Commission, presided over the programme. Shri Anil Khanna, Nagar Sanyojak, Environmental Protection organization, also played the role of Programme Coordinator. On this occasion, in recognition of his commendable contribution in the field of environmental protection, he was promoted and appointed District Sanyojak of District Environmental Protection Activity. On this occasion, Shri Arjun Ji, District Pracharak, and Shri Sandeep Kashyap Ji, Department Coordinator and Advocate, welcomed and guided the distinguished persons who attended the meeting from different organizations. International author and educationist Anil Kumar Bharti performed the role of stage anchor very efficiently in the programme.
In his welcome address, Department Coordinator and Advocate Sandeep Kashyap Ji appealed to all the social-service organizations and organizations making commendable contributions in the field of environmental protection in Punjab that they should all work together in the interest of the country and the world. The senior office-bearers of all the organizations participating in the programme strongly welcomed the suggestion of working together on this appeal and described it as a commendable initiative in the field of environmental protection.
Shri Praveen Ji, who attended as the chief speaker, stated that last year, on the occasion of the Maha Kumbh in Prayagraj, rejecting the use of disposable plates, glasses and spoons etc., steel utensils were distributed and brought into use in lakhs. The people who came to the Maha Kumbh in crores played an appreciable role in saving their environment. They also took a pledge not to use plastic items at all in their respective homes and to make small kitchen gardens and home gardens in their respective homes and plant flower- and fruit-bearing plants/trees.
On this occasion, everyone also took a pledge to participate enthusiastically in the ‘Seed Sowing to Tree Plantation Campaign’ being conducted across the country.
On this occasion, Shri Vinod Sharma, General Secretary and State Awardee of Janhit Samiti Registered Patiala, and founder member of Janhit Samiti Anil Kumar Bharti; Vijay Goyal, President, Patiala Social Welfare Society; Ripudaman Ji, Principal, SDSE Senior Secondary School, Patiala; Jeevan Gupta, Divya Jyoti Jagriti Sansthan; Gursevak Puri, President, and Monga Ji from Sewa Bharati Patiala; Praveen Jhajjar Ji, retired Bank Manager; Ashok Kumar Mehta, retired SDO, Irrigation; Shri Shyam Sundar Ji, In-charge, Patiala; Mukesh Singla, Gulshan Kumar, Rajesh Mittal and Jagdeep Singh from Bharat Vikas Parishad; Dharam Pal Sharma, Bharat Tibet Sahyog Manch; Sanjay Dhir; R.K. Sindhi and others actively participated in the meeting and enhanced the dignity of the programme.
At the end of the programme, cloth bags were also distributed among all the distinguished persons present, in order to strengthen the sentiment of stopping the use of plastic bags. Along with this, saplings of Shyama Tulsi were given by Bharat Vikas Parishad to inspire everyone to continue working for environmental protection.
