Karnal, September 30:- Under the special campaign being conducted by Karnal District Police against drug traffickers under the able guidance and direction of Karnal Superintendent of Police Mr. Karan Goyal, IPS, strict and effective action is continuously being taken. In this connection, the team of Police Post Manglaura under Police Station Madhuban has succeeded in arresting an accused along with 16 grams of heroin and the scooter allegedly used in the crime.
Under the leadership of Police Post Manglaura In-charge Sub-Inspector Manjeet Singh, the team was conducting a checking operation after setting up a blockade at Naka Manglaura in the late evening on the basis of secret information as part of action against drug trafficking. During this, the team apprehended Joni, son of Tejpal, resident of Dhakwala and presently residing in Prithvi Vihar, Police Station Sector 32/33, Karnal, along with a Honda Activa scooter.
During a search conducted by the police team as per the prescribed procedure, 16 grams of heroin were recovered from the scooter. Taking the recovered narcotic substance and scooter into possession, a case was registered against the accused at Police Station Madhuban under the relevant sections of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act, and the accused was arrested.
The arrested accused was produced before the Hon’ble Court today, from where, as per the court’s orders, the accused was sent to District Jail in judicial custody.
