SAS Nagar, August 15:- On the occasion of the 80th Independence Day of the country, the Independence Day function was celebrated in a simple and effective manner in the courtyard of Punjab School Education Board. The Chairman of the Board, Dr. Amarpal Singh, IAS (Retd.) hoisted the national flag. After this, the security guard of the Board and the police contingent arriving from Mohali Phase-8 saluted the national flag. On this occasion, the Secretary of the Board, Mr. Secretary Singh Bal, PCS, Director, Deputy Secretaries, officers and employees were present.
Chairman Dr. Amarpal Singh extended his greetings to all the officers and employees on the occasion of Independence Day and paid homage to the martyrs and patriots who made sacrifices during the freedom struggle. He said that the national theme of this year is “Developed India” and education has an important role to play in realizing it. A developed country is not only identified with buildings and roads, but also with quality education and making the youth self-reliant.
He said that along with modern education, the Punjab School Education Board is also committed to the promotion and dissemination of mother tongue Punjabi. The board has included subjects like Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Entrepreneurship in the curriculum from 8th to 12th class to make the students self-reliant. Apart from this, quarterly, half-yearly and annual certificate courses have also been prepared to increase the understanding of the Punjabi language.
Appreciating the hard work of all the officers and employees of the board, the chairman said that all the work related to the curriculum, textbooks, examinations, certificate courses and results is contributing to improving the future of lakhs of students of Punjab. He said that real freedom is freedom from ignorance and unemployment, which is possible only through proper and up-to-date education.
During the event, patriotic songs were presented by the officers and employees. Finally, the stage coordinator paid tribute to the martyrs and patriots and thanked all the officers and employees who attended the event.
