Dera Bassi, March 25: Local MLA Sardar Kuljit Singh Randhawa today flagged off the 15th bus of devotees from Kakrali village in Dera Bassi, sending them on a pilgrimage to visit religious sites under the 'Chief Minister's Pilgrimage Scheme.' On this occasion, the atmosphere was completely steeped in religious fervor, and immense enthusiasm was evident among the devotees.
Addressing the gathering on this occasion, MLA Randhawa stated that the 'Chief Minister's Pilgrimage Scheme,' launched by the Punjab government, is a historic and public-welfare-oriented initiative for the elderly. Through this scheme, the dreams of those individuals are being fulfilled who, due to financial or other constraints, were unable to undertake a pilgrimage during their lifetime.
He remarked that this scheme is not merely limited to the journey itself; rather, it infuses the lives of the elderly with spiritual peace, contentment, and renewed energy. "When our elders set off on a pilgrimage with smiles and deep reverence, it is a moment of immense joy and pride for us," he said.
The MLA further informed that devotees from the Dera Bassi constituency are continuously benefiting from this scheme, and efforts will continue to connect an increasing number of people to it in the future, ensuring that no aspiring individual is deprived of this opportunity.
Meanwhile, the devotees expressed their gratitude to the Punjab government and MLA Randhawa, describing the scheme as an invaluable gift. They expressed their joy at finally receiving the opportunity to visit religious sites—an experience that would bring deep peace to their minds.
A large number of local residents, dignitaries, and party workers were present on the occasion, bidding farewell to the devotees with good wishes and by garlanding them with flowers. The entire atmosphere was permeated with a spirit of joy and spiritual elation.
